Easter distribution at the Institute: simple gestures to boost morale

Last week, thanks to the complicity of Bell, the small team at FIUSMM celebrated Easter with a sweet and symbolic activity: a distribution of chocolates to patients at the Institute. A simple, yet meaningful gesture, reminding us just how much small pleasures and shared rituals can play a role in recovery and well-being in mental health.

Chocolate for morale? It’s not a myth!

Consumption of chocolate, especially dark chocolate, has long been associated with improved mood. It contains compounds that stimulate the production of serotonin and dopamine, two neurotransmitters involved in mood regulation. But beyond the biochemical benefits, it’s above all the context in which these moments are experienced – in connection with others, in a climate of pleasure, play and recognition – that gives them a real psychosocial impact. Add to this the effect of surprise, and a whole host of positive emotions are created in a matter of moments – enough to anchor you in the present moment too.

A gesture of kindness, a concrete action for mental health

This activity is part of our upcoming Bell Days, an invaluable partnership that will enable us to carry out five themed days focused on patient well-being. Thanks to this support, the Foundation can go even further in its mission to break isolation, foster a sense of belonging and offer positive experiences to our users.
